You connect with others
Beautifully and lovingly.
You doubt yourself but
Brush those doubts aside
Every time you pick up
A pen and write wise words
Like someone told you them,
Or when you strum the guitar
And the rhythm holds you in its
Arms and soothes any uneasiness,
Or when you hum a sweet tune
And welcome yourself home
Away from the struggles you overcame.
You’ve fought a war with yourself
For so long but somehow you eventually
Learned that when things get tough,
You need to always count on yourself.

Those hard times
